WES Midsummer Chant Ritual with Kellianna

On a crisp, clear, sunny solstice season afternoon, members of WES came together to celebrate Midsummer and to participate in the magickal, alchemical weavings of songstress, Kellianna. Her approach is always engaging; inviting even the shy and timid to participate fully. The sense of Tribe and Community extended itself with the creation of the seasonal altar, adorned with an array of fresh flowers, statuary and overall beauty.
We gathered around the Solstice fire in a circle to wend and weave our way towards Transformation. We were asked to meditate on what we need to transform in our lives. We danced and tranced around the flames and as the chants and songs of the Earth, Air, Fire and Water, Gods, Goddesses, and the ever-present Ancestors progressed, deepened and grew in strength and intensity, we projected our aspirations of transformation into the cone, to be manifested on the winds (and wings) of Change. As we did so, the cool, audible breeze and the "chatter and nods" of the trees confirmed the success of our intentions.
After this transforming experience, we all gathered for the Feast. Folks truly pitched in with the potluck, and we had a tempting assortment of Summer treats: organic roast chicken, salads, rice dishes, home-made cake, organic lemonade, cheese and crackers and chocolate covered strawberries. There was something to please all palates!!!
I left with a sense of community, completion, wonderment and appreciation for the land and her people. A joyous event indeed!
